Gifted Education: A Pathway for Success

I appreciate your interest in supporting gifted learners and understand that providing the optimal support for gifted students is not always easy, but we're here to help.  We have over 25 years of experience in the field of gifted education, including gifted identification, creating services and developing programs, providing professional learning experiences for teachers, school administrators and parents, developing curriculum and coaching educators. We also work closely with parents as we understand that being the parent of a gifted children can be a challenge.

Much of my professional experience has been in Europe, the Middle East and my home country of the United States.  My personal area of expertise is identifying and providing programming options for third culture gifted students who are experiencing school outside of their home country (many for the first time!) and may not be able to find the educational and social-emotional support they require.  I work closely with parents of gifted students to support their advocacy efforts and encourage schools to develop individual education pathways.

While working in Qatar I was blessed to partner with Lauren Marcos, a talented and passionate educator. Together we design and develop gifted education programs and provided professional development support for schools throughout Qatar. We also established and facilitated identification methods and programs for over 4,000 students.  We are excited to continue the journey we started over five years ago to support students, parents, educators and school administrators with gifted education solutions.

Cynthia

Cynthia is a gifted education expert, with over 25 years of experience as a teacher, coordinator, administrator and university instructor. She works with international schools to create bespoke programs to identify and support gifted, talented and high achieving students, training teachers and leaders to recognize signs of giftedness and utilize data, coupled with gifted education best practice methods, to meet the needs of students. She also works with parents, in their journey to find an academic pathway for their gifted child, specializing in the unique needs of ‘third culture’ students, living outside of their home country. 

Well-known as a global leader in gifted and talented education, and recognized by Qatar Foundation, AAGT, SUSD, PVUSD, et al, Cynthia frequently speaks on innovative educational programs and projects including the support and development of programs for gifted, talented and high achieving students, the successful implementation of high-impact enrichment programs and the importance of choosing the right educational environment for your gifted child, recent speaking engagements include: Milan Youth4Climate Conference 2021, SPIEF 2021; HAGT 2021/2020; EdEx Qatar 2019; Qatar Math Days 2020; TLF-Q 2018/2016; AGIS 2015/2014; ECHA 2016; WCGTC 2015. 

Lauren is a passionate educator of young adults and teaching professionals, with over 20 years of experience as a middle and high school teacher, IB educator, gifted education coordinator, instructional coach and teacher trainer in America and internationally. Lauren specializes in student identification and potential development in an international school context. As a secondary school expert, she brings a unique perspective to the needs of third culture students as they enter the final years of their K-12 educational career. 

Cynthia and Lauren have worked together for the past five years supporting parents, students, educators and school administrators with gifted education solutions.  She specializes in creating and delivering engaging professional development programs around all aspects of gifted and high achieving student educational needs. Lauren works with schools to assess their gifted education needs and develop bespoke gifted education professional development programs that complement their goals, mission and vision. She has presented internationally on gifted education best practices in Qatar and India.
